Hello everyone. Welcome to Money Black Belt. I have started this blog as a way to help readers out there who wants to get a grip on their finances. Whether it is saving to retire early, or how to select which stocks to invest in, or even how to create budgets with your spouse, you have come to right place.
A short introduction. I was a software engineer by training, moved up the ranks, and recently took the plunge to explore retirement at the age of 48. I know this is not that early, compared to say, Mr. Money Mustache, and I am not boasting, far from it. At this junction of my life, I feel that I am not as driven by writing code and delivering technical projects as, say, making a different type of impact on the world. There is more to life than the 9 to 6 grind. So this is where I am. "Exploring" and seeing if this new lifestyle is right for me. Only time will tell.
My wife and I have saved and invested over the past 20 years. With out little stash of stock investments and rental properties, my calculations show that I do have enough at this point to take the plunge. Obviously this took a few calibrations in the past few months to make this happen, such as reducing expenses, and re-allocating our portfolio. It is all possible, and I hope all my readers will come along with me on this exciting journey.
This is my parting message: Every day is a gift. Dark clouds shall pass. Start today by taking action towards a happier and brighter future.
